Position Summary:
The HVAC Maintenance Technician is responsible for performing a wide variety of repair and maintenance tasks to ensure the smooth operation and upkeep of The Pacific Club’s facilities. This includes daily maintenance, preventive tasks, and responding to maintenance requests to maintain safety, comfort, and aesthetic standards.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Installs, maintains, and repairs refrigeration systems, heating, ventilating, and air conditioning systems, and related equipment to ensure safe, efficient, and reliable operation.
  • Installs new units or replacement parts for existing units according to specifications and established safety guidelines.
  • Maintains and secures a spare parts inventory, recommends purchasing of maintenance equipment and supplies as required to improve processes and efficiencies.
  • Diagnoses and troubleshoots mechanical and electrical issues in commercial and industrial refrigeration units using testing tools and technical schematics.
  • Performs regular preventive maintenance on equipment and building systems, including cleaning, component replacement, refrigerant checks, and system calibration.
  • Ensures compliance with safety standards, environmental regulations, and proper handling of refrigerants in accordance with applicable codes.
  • May perform routine maintenance tasks as needed, including plumbing, electrical, and carpentry repairs.
  • Respond promptly to maintenance service requests.
  • Maintain accurate records of work performed and report any major issues to the Facilities Director.
  • Ensure all work is performed in accordance with safety standards and company policies.
  • Collaborate with outside vendors and contractors as needed.
  • Assist with event setup and teardown when necessary.
  • Support the housekeeping and landscaping teams as required.

Required Key Skills and Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or equivalent; trade school or technical certifications preferred.
  • Requires HVAC/R and EPA Section 608 Certification (CFC).
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in HVAC, refrigeration, general maintenance, facilities, or a combination.
  • Strong working knowledge of HVAC and refrigeration.
  • Ability to use hand and power tools safely and effectively.
  • Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
  • Flexibility to work weekends, holidays, and evenings as needed.
  • Valid Hawaii driver’s license preferred.
